Kazuki's Singapore Blog: Sunday

What a fantastic night for the team! Both FW30s ran faultlessly in the Singapore Grand Prix and it felt great to bring both cars home in the points. Congratulations to everyone for a great job!
While I was very happy to score my first World Championship point since Silverstone, one of the most satisfying elements of the race was the fact that I maintained my pace from qualifying. I set the 10th fastest race lap, proving that my pace at the Marina Bay Circuit was good over one lap and over a long stint.
As I predicted prior to the race, it was very tough and physical. The lights weren’t a problem, but the bumps (especially on the run to Turn 7) and the heat made it very tough in the last third of the race. I’m sure I’ll be feeling the effects of it tomorrow morning!
I now head home to Nagoya for four days. It will be great to spend some time with my family and to eat some of my mum’s cooking: I think that’s what I miss most when I’m in Europe! Then it’s off to Tokyo for quite a few PR commitments, before heading to Fuji Speedway for the Japanese Grand Prix. When I was driving in Japanese Formula 3, I lived in Gotemba, which is the nearest town to the track, so it will be fun to head back to some old haunts!
See you there,
Kazuki
