Kazuki's Spa Blog: Sunday

As for my own race, it was pretty tough. There wasn’t much difference between a one and a two-stop strategy in terms of time, so we elected to go with one stop. Unfortunately, I lost ground on the opening lap after being hit by another car at Turn 1, but there was no damage to my FW30 and I was able to continue.
Thereafter I had a fairly quiet race, until three laps from the end when rain started to fall. Knowing whether or not to pit for wet tyres was a difficult decision and we decided to come in on the penultimate lap. It meant that I had lots of grip, but there wasn’t enough time for me to progress up the order, so I came home in 14th place.
I’m back in the UK for a couple of days now, before heading out to Monza on Wednesday. Our recent test at the track went well, so I’m hopeful that we can have a good race this weekend.
