It’s a long lap here in Valencia – 3.380 miles – but it’s not too long for Claire Williams. Our PR guru took to the track this evening in her running shoes and completed the distance in just under 30 minutes. London 2012 here we come!

It’s been a busy day for the AT&T Williams marketing team. As well as their usual trackside commitments, a small group headed to the Corte Ingles department store in central Valencia where McGregor had a show car outside their shop. It was a question of getting the sponsors’ logos in the right places…

Who says beach volleyball shouldn’t be an Olympic sport? Certainly not Nico Rosberg. “Come on,” he says, “it’s fantastic! Lots of skill and very hard work, so the participants needn’t wear too many clothes.”

In memory of the 154 people who lost their lives in the Madrid plane crash, Fernando Alonso has given all of the drivers stickers of the Spanish flag to place on their helmets for the remainder of the weekend. The double World Champion also put forward the idea of a minute’s silence on the grid ahead of tomorrow’s race, which Bernie Ecclestone has since rubber-stamped.
