AT&T Williams F1

Seventh place was a great way to end what has been an encouraging weekend for me and the AT&T Williams team. Prior to coming to the Circuit de Catalunya, we didn’t expect this race to be a particularly strong one for the FW30, yet we came away with my seventh place. Nico was racing strongly until his retirement as well.

I’m happy to score two more World Championship points and to maintain my 100 percent finishing record this year, but I’m also a little frustrated not to have beaten Jenson Button into sixth place. If everything had gone according to plan, it would have been possible, but the two Safety Car periods made it hard and in the end it wasn’t to be.

There is no testing between now and the next race, in Turkey, so I’m going to return to the UK to do some training. The Istanbul Park circuit is the first anti-clockwise track of the year, which will make it very hard on the neck muscles and it’s important that I arrive there prepared. No doubt my trainer Nick will have something up his sleeve… I’ll let you know what that is next time!
